This weekend I visited the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, located on 300 ecologically diverse acres in southern Johnson County. The Arboretum was founded to keep Overland Park at the forefront of environmental and ecological issues. About 85 percent of the property is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems. The remaining portion includes traditional botanical gardens, the Environmental Education Visitors Center (EEVC) and maintenance facilities.
This was a really beautiful well-kept secret and I captured many wonderful moments in nature. A special thank you to my beautiful mother who was my model for the day!
