Remington, Snow & His Booties

Kansas City had a winter blizzard over the holiday weekend! It was a good thing I bought Remington some winter booties for situations just like this! His little paws get so cold in the snow and these booties made him so much more comfortable. He really enjoyed romping in the fluffy white goodness! As you can see, cold weather does not stop me from doggy photo shoots! Book your fun snow photo shoot today! They are still 1/2 price!

Ahhhh... after his chilly romp in the snow, it's time to be warm and snooze! Happy Holidays everyone!

Brutes the Bulldog of Many Faces

Oh that face... those wrinkles, that wiggly booty! Brutes, aka B2 is too cute for words. His Mom learned of my services through the doggy daycare that we take our fur babies to. She really wanted photos of Brutes with his girlfriend, the Boxer, Aida, but due to scheduling conflicts, that will happen on another date. In the meantime, just look at this face and prepare to smile!

The "droop" face, as his Mom pointed out.

The "vampire" face.

The "Are we seriously walking one more inch?" face.

The "open mouth" face

The "adorably pitiful" face.

The "Are we almost done?" face.

The "Are you really making me wear this Christmas collar?" face.

The "Ok, I thought the collar was bad enough, but now the hat??!" face.

The "reflective and pouty" face.

The "underbite" face.

My Fur Baby's Best Friend Murphy

Meet Murphy, the Poodle/Bichon. Oh my goodness... his face was so precious, I just wanted to hold him and squeeze him forever! My fur baby Remington met Murphy at doggy daycare and they have been best friends ever since! They play and wrestle all day long when they are both at daycare together. Murphy's Mom heard about my dog photography from the daycare and wanted his photos taken. We since found out that we are neighbors, right down the street from one another AND our boy's birthdays are 3 days apart. They will both be one year old in January. How completely adorable. I took Murphy and his Mom to Shawnee Mission Park on Saturday and we braved the freezing cold. We made the session as quick and painless as possible and I think it turned out beautiful! Thank you to Murphy's Mom for letting me capture your absolute heart-melting doggy!

Remembering the True Meaning of Christmas

It is very easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas during this busy time of year. Holiday parties, baking, decorating, wishing for snow, scrambling to buy presents, etc. I am just as guilty of all of these things as well. I want to remind myself and others that the true meaning of Christmas is love. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love.

Every year I usually adopt a family though the 98.1 KUDL program. It makes my heart happy to give back to a family who truly deserves it. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate in life and find joy in helping someone else have a brighter holiday. This year I decided to do something a little different. Instead of the impersonal Adopt-a-Family, I asked my photography clients to share a story of someone who was extremely deserving this time of year, for the chance to be selected to receive a free photo shoot, along with some Christmas gifts on their wish list. I received an e-mail from one of my clients who had a story about her friend that truly touched my heart.

The person I chose is the mother of 4 (one child of her own, and current custody of her husband's sister's kids.) Just recently, her parents house burned. She welcomed her parents, two sisters, her brother, and grandmother into her home during this traumatic time. What touched my heart the most is the story about her son. He has always had a gift and special bond with animals. Before the fire, he had seen two of his dogs pass away and because of the fire, he just lost his latest puppy. After all of these unfortunate events, he feels it is somehow his fault and that animals should not be around him anymore. This breaks my heart, as I have always had a special connection with animals, especially dogs, and could not imagine that being broken.

To this family, I will be presenting a one-hour doggy photo shoot, in hopes for the little boy to reconnect with the other animals the family still has and to give him hope when a new doggy comes into his life. I will also be presenting other gifts and clothing that some of the family members need, in addition to an acupressure massage for the mother, who deserves some relaxation.

I encourage you, and not only during the holiday season, to open your heart to help others in need and always be thankful for your blessings in life. You really never know when life could change in just an instant.

Casey's Holiday Video Greeting, Featuring Myste, Lexi & Lina

One of my clients, Casey, had the most adorable idea! She created a holiday video, highlighting her favorite photos from our doggy photo shoot. She chose to share this with her friends and family versus a standard Christmas card. How creative and "green"! Thank you for sharing, Casey. I am honored you chose my photos to appear on your video. Just hit the triangle play button on the left corner to play the video!

Before & After - Removing Background Elements

I recently received a request from someone who loved their photo on the left, but really wanted just the three of them in a seperate photo. However, simple cropping would not accomplish this. I was thrilled to be able to create a new photo with just the couple and their doggy on a white background with steps. I am very happy with the end result! If you have a similar request, please let me know! I am always up for a new challenge! fixyourimages@Hotmail.com

Meet the Amazing Three - Miste, Lexi & Lina

I had the pleasure of recently meeting Casey and her three sweet fur babies. There was an abundance of love in this shoot and it was a joy to capture these precious moments. Casey is an amazing person and practices Reiki in animals and humans, which is a method of reducing stress, promoting healing and can be a pathway to inner peace. Check out her website here!

Here is Myste, the beautiful Collie.

And Lexi, the reserved Border Collie.

And Lina, the joyful Pointer Mix. This sweet baby girl is blind, but you would never know it! She bounced gracefully with her sisters, trudged through the never-ending fields like a trooper and her tail never stopped wagging once. What an amazing little doggie she is.

The doggies had some fun in the water! Well, mainly Myste... she was the 'fish' of the day!

Check out Lexi's face.... Stranger Danger!!

I am outta here!!!

Lina & Myste are having a discussion about their day in the park. Wonder what they are thinking?

Lina wanted to report back to Lexi about her conversation with Myste.

I know there are some treats in here somewhere!!

Thank you for letting me document your remarkable doggies, Casey!
